P.M

a little disappointing...
OH well.. it all works out right!
So the patient I was overwhelmed with last tues doing her OD in less then an hour-- class III localized IV, well she was my afternoon today... wobbly anterior lower centrals.... well she didn't show.. Mr. Salomon called her 15 to 1... talked for 10 mins.. guess she was confused and hung up... well she showed up after I had a pt from the lobby in the chair. What to do. Not the right thing to dismiss my patient..whom I just started..didn't feel right. He was only a 1B who had never had his teeth cleaned in his whole entire life.. he was 20 with practically no calculus.
Anyway my original patient went with another student... missed out on a really interesting patient...good experience... and a pano. Something good always comes to those who share, right? Hope so. I can't think about the work that goes into an OD --lack of being able to clean them. Oh and the fact that I am down a few clinic sessions from lack of VA scheduling me a patient one day and me being sick..
Just hope I get all that I am supposed to.. just don't have many quads.

  2. You will truly be blessed for your loss today and having to care for your sick kids. You are putting your kids first and so you will have a higher power pulling for you.

  3. Oh shoot, I'm sorry! But yes, everything works out! I just can't believe your patient had never had their teeth cleaned and they were just a 1B! People really need to stop brushing their teeth :)

  4. I'm sorry your day wasn't good, but I'm sooo grateful for you. Thank you so much for letting me treat her. I was getting so desperate for someone other than a class V! Thank you, thank you, thank you! She was definitely a difficult patient, but a learning experience! I was pretty sure her lower teeth were going to fall out as I was scaling and I was so scared because that's exactly what she did NOT want to have happen! Good things really do happen to those who share. :) I hope I can help you out like you helped me.

  5. oh man I'm so sorry:( I heard about that, thats really awful. It will all work out though by the end. I think we all stress out sooo much but then on the last day we all have the things that we needed and do just fine. I totally feel your pain though. I missed a day at the VA as well because I was sick and have had to patients with cold sores, and one who needed to be premedicated. All of which I didn't get a replacement patient so all those time were completely shot. Then my last VA day is supposed to be Dec. 2nd. Which I'm pretty positive I'm going to have to miss as well!:) school huh? Not stressful at all.
